Miniaturist's Holiday Party
Window Wishes
December 5, 2009
The weather set the tone for the fourth annual Miniaturist's Holiday
Party as we woke to snow across Maryland. Despite the wintry weather, nearly all our registrants made it
to the Frederick Elks Lodge for fun, miniatures and good food. Mary Myers and her committee welcomed their guests
to a warm setting on a cold December day.
Jean Brown created an art gallery that featured her miniature seascape.
The Cute as a Button baby boutique generated ooohs
and aaahs..
Leah Schofield created a charming dollhouse shop
Do Drops on Roses Club created
a crab shanty that made us long for summer.
Jackie Foster created a charming toy shop.
Jackie Foster organized an exhibit that included Gwen Cargill's Storybook Cottage, past State Day Projects, and
prototypes of the 2010 Maryland State Day. Jean Brown chaired the tote bags and everyone received goodies they could
use in their own store projects, include miniature jewelry, miniature perfume bottles on mirrored trays, placemat and
napkin sets and other miniature treasures. Everyone also took home a kit to make two decorative flower boxes.
The committee invited attendees to bring canned goods to donate to local charities and we had three large boxes
of non-perishable foods for hungry families in Frederick County.
The centerpieces were storefront windows and there were two on each table. Two people at every table took one home and there
were three centerpieces given to winners of a special drawing.

Sue Ann Ketchum made us drool with her bakery.
